Soft Cover, 286 Pages
After 5 years of trying to cope with the death of her only daughter and husband, who died in a suspect car accident, Julia heads to Malibu to look after her uncle’s house. It’s here, among the lemon orchards of the estate, that Julia finds peace and a project that keeps her mind off her grief and allows her to move forward in her own life.
Drawn to Roberto, a Mexican immigrant who works the orchard, Julia discovers that he is suffering from his own grief. His own daughter was lost and never found when they were trying to cross the border into the United States. In trying to solve the mystery around Roberto’s missing daughter, they fall in love.
It’s a good read for the fall and a nice story with a surprise ending.
